Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 Hungaroring HYMO Hot Lap Analysis
Let’s take a look at this hot lap of Hungaroring in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 driven by HYMO.
The Track
The Hungaroring, located in Mogyoród, Hungary, is renowned for its technical layout, characterised by a series of challenging corners and limited straight-line sections. The track's twisty nature demands a finely tuned car setup to effectively navigate the tight turns and elevation changes. Luckily HYMO has got you covered with the setup they used in the reference video HERE
Since it opened in 1986, the Hungaroring has been a regular spot for Formula 1 races. It's seen lots of exciting moments and races, and it's loved by drivers and fans. The track's challenges and pretty surroundings have made it a special place in racing history.
Analysis
Using the Track Titan software to compare the HYMO lap to a community lap we can see that the HYMO driver gains almost 0.2s because of 2 reasons. Let’s take a look.
Looking at the racing line, we can see that the HYMO driver (orange) takes a different line. The HYMO driver stays on the outside of the track all the time, until the turn-in point. On the other hand, the community driver slowly drifts to the inside of the corner before the turn-in point. For some corners, this is a great technique. however, for this 90-degree right-hander this isn’t the case. You want to maximise your exit speed by taking the fastest line possible. That’s not the only thing where we can see a difference. For the braking; the HYMO driver brakes earlier and trail brakes right up until the apex. This allows the HYMO driver to get on the throttle a little quicker.

Do you know how to learn a new track when just starting? Many people tend to be too hasty when it comes to learning a new track. This could often lead to frustration or other negative feelings you do not want to have. Instead, do this.
While practicing a new track it is important to take it slow. Explore the corners and different characteristics that the track has. while doing this, brake early for corners and feel how the car handles through these corners giving you a feel of how the car reacts to the surface. For every corner try braking later each lap until you brake too late. Now you know the braking points for the track that you are driving at easily and without constantly crashing.
